Check Out Maceio Nightlife At The City's Many Beachside Clubs And Bars

One of the great things about visiting Maceio is that when all the day's beach fun is over, there is Maceio nightlife to enjoy. In the northeastern region of Brazil, no town has as much nightlife as Maceio. Here is a guide to what to do and where to go.

Jaragua - Jaragua is perhaps the most famous nightlife area of Maceio. This is because of its old warehouses and colonial buildings that have been turned into seafood restaurants and bars. This used to be the old port of the city of Maceio, the biggest port in the region, and now you can go drinking and dancing there.

Arena Dance Club, Rua Sa Albuquerque 168, phone: (55) 82-326-7378 - The Arena Dance Club is one of the best known in Jaragua. On Friday and Saturday nights, the bar is packed with people drinking and dancing. It is right along the beach, on a street full of restaurants and bars which makes for great bar-hopping. On weeknights it is not so crowded, but there are plenty of people there to make it a good time.

Boate 209 Uruguai, Rua Tab. Vieira Barros, 209, phone: (55) 82-326-7656

Number One Disco Club, Rua Tab Vieira Barros, 288, phone: (55) 82-336-3910

Pajucara - This is another Maceio nightlife area full of old buildings turned into clubs. The hottest club here is Middo, a disco popular with international travelers and locals alike.

Middo, R. Senador V. Omena, 2167, phone: (55) 82-231-6146.

Ponta Verde - In Portuguese, Ponta Verde means "Green Point." This beachside nightlife hotspot is lined with palm trees and great bars, and this is why Ponta Verde is one of the best Maceio nightlife districts. In addition to the clubs, the beaches between Ponta Verde and Jatiuca are some of the best that Maceio has to offer. Ponta Verde has some great nightclubs and bars, and it's also a great place to wander during the daytime, when there are vendors selling goods, treats and drinks.

Jatiuca - On the other side of the beaches from Ponta Verde is Jatiuca, another great nightspot. This area contains two of the best places to experience Maceio nightlife, Skyy and Maikai.

Skyy Bar and Restaurant, O M Ribeiro 320, phone: (55) 82-3325-4930.

Maikai, Rua Des A. G. Mendonca 61, (55) 82-3325-7565.

Roda Verde - This hot, beachside area is located at the southeastern tip, where Maceio's coastline pokes into the Atlantic Ocean. Located between the Pajucara and Jatiuca districts, both known for their great nightlife, this area has lots of bars, restaurants and beautiful coastline.

Lampiao, Av Alvaro Otacilio, phone: (55) 82-3325-4376. There is a hot Brazilian dance known as the "Forro," and there is no better place to try it than Lampiao. Forro is the most popular style of music and dance in northeastern Brazil. It is a mix of salsa and samba rock styles, and it is a dance that is enjoyed by older folks and young people alike. Lampiao is located right along the shore in one of Maceio's hottest nightlife districts.
