Check Out All That Maceio's Gunga Beach Has To Offer

Gunga beach is one of the ultimate Maceio attractions. Anyone who has been there will tell you that it's one of Maceio's best beaches. Compared to the others, Gunga Beach has a wide variety of things to see and do. It's not just a favorite among locals either; several magazines and websites have ranked Gunga Beach in their top ten best beaches in the world.

The beach is located where the San Miguel bar meets the mouth of the river. This is an extremely popular area, and while it can get quite crowded, there are plenty of secluded coves, bays and beaches for you to enjoy. All you have to do is wander a little way, and you can have a beach all to yourself.

The coral reefs separate Gunga Beach into two different areas. The area inside the reef is quiet and beautiful, with soft white sand, gentle turquoise water and a calm sea. There are some vendors selling drinks and food, but you'll find the inside area to be much quieter than the outside.

Outside the reef, you'll find raging waves and lots of activity on the beach. This is the main tourist spot, with lots of restaurants, bars and stands selling handmade crafts. Just because it's the most touristy part of the beach doesn't mean it isn't beautiful, or lots of fun. That's the great thing about Gunga Beach - it has the best of both worlds. It's a great place to go for peace and quite, and also a great place to meet people and hang out.

Both sides of the beach are beautiful, with warm, clear water, white sand and palm trees. Cliffs rise high above the beach on all sides.

On the outside part of the beach there is great surfing and windsurfing. You can also rent jet skis and go for a ride on the waves. They have boat tours also, that take you out beyond the reefs. You can look into the crystal clear waters and see all the plants, fish and many colors beneath the waves.

If you're looking for a little peace and quiet, you just have to get away from the crowds. There is a main restaurant area on the beach where you'll see most people gathering. Take a walk for a few minutes in either direction, and you can find your own private beach to lounge on. There are lots of bays and beaches all around the Gunga Beach area.

Gunga Beach is the true Maceio postcard picture spot.
