Check Out The Reefs And Rainforests At The Barra De Sao Miguel
The Barra de Sao Miguel is one of the most famous beaches in all of northeastern Brazil. It is a long strip of sandy beach with a colorful coral reef nearby. It is located 33 kilometers from Maceio on the southern coast of the area, and is considered one of the best sightseeing spots on the northeastern coast of Brazil.
This beach offers some breathtaking views of the ocean. Barra de Sao Miguel offers some of the best photographic opportunities anywhere. The water is clear and crystalline, and the sand is clean and white. The water at Barra de Sao Miguel is calm. It is not a good beach for surfing or watersports, but it is great for just going for a dip in the warm waters.
It is also a great beach to get out and see the natural pools. These natural pools are one of the major attractions of the whole area, and Barra de Sao Miguel has some of the best. This is one reason for its popularity. The reefs are not far from the coast, and during low tide they turn into a living aquarium of exotic fish and plantlife. The sandy bottoms of the pools also make them nice for wading and swimming.
Barra de Sao Miguel is a very popular spot with locals, but it's just enough out of the way that you won't find it crowded with tourists. It is just south of some of the southern coasts most popular beaches, and most people don't make it this far south. It is just south of Gunga Beach. Still, it can get crowded on weekends, especially during the peak tourist season.
Just beyond the beach at Barra de Sao Miguel, you'll find tropical rainforests. You can walk among the tall trees and tropical canopy, and check out the flora and fauna.
There is a local population at this municipality of about 8,000 people. There isn't much of a tourism industry, but there are a few small bed and breakfasts, and quite a few wonderful home-style restaurants. This is a great place to try some of the area's seafood dishes, and there are always plenty of places to sit. There are also food stalls that are open during the daytime along the beach.
Barra de Sao Miguel is easy to get to from Maceio. Head south on AL-101 for 33 kilometers and you'll see the entrance. It is just past French Beach and Marechal Deodoro.
